KATHY RICHARDSON: There are a lot of different ways to get your driving while license revoked. Some of the ways that people don't really think of is unpaid traffic tickets and conviction of any moving violation while your license is revoked or suspended for anything else. Once that happens, it can snowball because every new charge you get can cause additional revocations, until you get to three. And that's permanent. But with the guidance of a good attorney, a permanent revocation isn't always permanent.
I don't want to counsel people not to pay a traffic ticket. But it's important that when you get a ticket you consult an attorney because paying that ticket results in a conviction. And an attorney may be able to resolve your case without a conviction.
What makes the system so complicated is that you're dealing with three different organizations, the courts, the DMV, and you're dealing with your insurance.
When it comes to driving while license revoked cases, our priority at the Richardson Law Firm is to get our clients relicensed as quickly as possible and also to handle their current driving while license revoked cases in a manner that won't cause additional revocations.
If you're facing traffic violations, you should contact an attorney immediately.
